bird watching On Lahar Farm at different times of the year we have recorded 48 species of birds, at present we have a pair of New Zealand falcons breeding at Lahar Lake. Brent, after many years of exploring the remote outdoors of New Zealand has an excellent knowledge of the land birds to be seen in this area. Take yourself for a wander through our bush or book with Brent for an early morning or evening bird watching adventure. Wear comfortable warm weather proof clothing and footwear, if necessary binoculars can be supplied.

Guided Rate Lahar Farm bird experience - $120 for 1-2 birders, book with Brent for a morning or evening.

Waimarino District Birds, we are an ideal base for sighting the special birds on the volcanic plateau, Brent will be able to advise you how to travel by yourself to view the bush birds and water fowl at Rotokuru Lakes, Blue Ducks on the Manganui o teao River or Fern birds in the National Park beyond the farmland.
